Elevator Operators
At the true center of Seattle stands the Smith Tower. Nobody looks here anymore and the tower is made to look low by the newer, taller skyscrapers. Yet anyone with a good eye will see its unique design. Along the whole western United States it is the only building remaining with hired elevator operators. These men or women, dressed accordingly with a cordial nobility the job entails, work to assure your safe ascent and descent. They are anything but mere button pushers.
